Eisenach, 10.02.2022 - The Burgcafé Gadem directly on the Wartburg in Eisenach is well known to all those who visit the historic sight. Unfortunately, it had to close at the end of 2021 due to coronavirus. Especially interesting for families: it will reopen for guests on February 11, 2022 - just in time for the winter school vacations in Thuringia.

The Romantik Hotel auf der Wartburg, situated high above Eisenach, offers a wonderful view over the Thuringian Forest and the birthplace of Johann Sebastian Bach as a neighbor of the almost 1000-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Wartburg. Founded in 2008, arcona HOTELS & RESORTS, based in Rostock, is a company specializing in the operation and development of hotels. As part of its reorientation towards the leisure and vacation hotel industry, arcona sold its city hotels at the beginning of 2019. The remaining six hotels are located in established vacation destinations such as Rügen, Sylt and Kitzbühel. The well-known Hotel Elephant Weimar, the traditional Romantik Hotel auf der Wartburg and the Schloss Teschow golf club are also part of arcona's portfolio. Barefoot Hotels will be a new business segment in the future. In 2018, arcona signed a long-term contract with Barefoot founder Til Schweiger for the worldwide implementation of the concept as a licensee. Accordingly, arcona intends to open further Barefoot Hotels at prominent destinations in the coming years. The shareholders of arcona are Alexander Winter and Treugast founder Prof. Stephan Gerhard.
