About Micro
In 1999, the Swiss Wim Ouboter founded the company Micro. With the first kick scooter for urban mobility, it coined the term "micromobility". The Micro kick scooter sold millions of units the year it was launched and has since been copied countless times.
With its first e-scooter, Micro ventured into electromobility in 2013. Since then, Micro has continuously developed its electric product range - also in cooperation with car manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes and Peugeot. In 2015, Micro began developing the Microlino under the leadership of Wim Ouboter's sons Merlin and Oliver. Initially intended as a PR campaign for the Geneva Motor Show, public interest was so great that Micro decided to go ahead with series development. After a number of setbacks, including the takeover of Micro's former production partner by a third company, Micro decided to completely redesign the Microlino and take production into its own hands.
Micro is a Swiss family business that is wholly owned by the Ouboter family. It has received numerous awards for its products and leadership, including the Fast Company and Most Innovative Company Award.
